Re: Lexiconographic changes due to P-Diddy's renaming
----

It has come to the attention of Word Up that Sean "Puffy" Combs, A/K/A Puff Daddy, A/K/A P-Diddy, has renamed himself merely "Diddy." Henceforth, the following changes in slang are advised:

  • Park Slope (Formerly "P-Sliddy") Now known as "Slidé"
  • Greenpoint (Formerly "G-Pitty") Now known as "Mr. G"
  • Red Hook (Formerly "The Hook") Now known as "Captain Hook"
  • Kev1n P0tere (Formerly "K-Po") Now know as "Po' Law Student"

Please update your use of slang to accomodate these changes immediately.

    Thank you.

    Submittable

Perspectives - Newsweek Periscope - MSNBC.com: "Reader M Fr33dm@n_Schn@pp of Booklyn, N.Y., submitted this quote:
'New York has Staten Island, and half of Queens, and cabdrivers.'
National pollster John Zogby, explaining why New York City was ranked only the country's 21st-most-liberal city. Detroit was the most liberal; Provo, Utah, the most conservative."

Schools' laptop sale in Richmond turns into a stampede (HamptonRoads.com/Pilot Online)

RICHMOND — A rush to purchase $50 used laptops turned into a violent stampede today, with people getting thrown to the pavement, beaten with a folding chair and nearly driven over. One woman went so far as to wet herself rather than surrender her place in line.

    Results of the Weekend

  • Andy and Vivi came up to stay for a great visit that included a trip to a seaweed-infested Long Beach, Dim Sum in Chinatown, dinner at Cafe Orlin, and drinks in the E. Village. Good times.

  • A car alarm across the street went off last night every time it rained, including at 1:30 am and 6:30 am.

  • Kevin and Eunice moved their stuff out this weekend, making me the winner in Survivor Brooklyn II. The grand prize is the apartment to myself until new roomie moves in. (See Survivor Brooklyn I)

I wish I had thought of this...

New York Daily News: Peg leg pub crawl

"By day, they are mild-mannered civilians with jobs at banks and well-meaning nonprofit groups.

But on those nights when pub piracy is nigh, they don eye patches, hoop earrings - and colorful bandanas, too.

They also carry a paper parrot dubbed 'Harvey' and a plush monkey named 'Monkey.'

And being pirates, they call each other 'Matey' and growl things like 'Arrrrrrr' and 'Shiver me timbers' to anyone who dares approach them."
